It is suitable for students, remote workers, or individuals repurposing older hardware for secondary tasks. However, as of 2023, its relevance is rapidly diminishing. Entry-level discrete GPUs and newer integrated solutions, such as Intel’s Iris Xe or AMD’s Vega cores, offer significantly better performance while maintaining similar power consumption. The legacy of the HD 5500 serves as a reminder of the trade-offs necessary to balance affordability and capability in an ever-evolving technological landscape.
